VISIT OF MINISTER CHRYSTIA FREELAND

Minister Chrystia Freeland Visit

On January 16, 2019, Grandchamp Structure Design had a major visit to its Repentigny branch. Indeed, we are very proud to have had the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada; the Honorable Chrystia Freeland.

Not only did we welcome him to our branch, but our president Bernard Grandchamp, as well as five companies from Lanaudière, were invited to participate in a round table with the Minister to discuss the issues on steel tariffs and aluminum in international markets.

During the visit, Bernard explained to the Minister: "Here, we don't play golf, we play hockey" this quote expresses our team spirit which is transmitted through our work. Ms. Freeland, a former journalist who led Canada’s NAFTA negotiating team, found Mr. Grandchamp’s quote great and very inspiring. Moreover, she underlined her desire to reuse this speech during her interventions.

This visit ended with a press briefing with some journalists. This allowed Grandchamp Structure Design to mark its presence as a Canadian SME that stands out in a particular niche of four-season marquees.
